Physical Education

About

At Northwood Elementary School we know being active is a key component in having a healthy lifestyle. This year NVUSD is providing PE for all grades.  Schedules vary, so please check with your child's teacher for your child's PE day.  It is important that students wear appropriate clothing and shoes in order to actively and safely participate in physical education.

The purpose of our program is to provide quality elementary physical education for children in grades first through fifth. Our program contributes to the total growth and development of each child. This is done through various activities that are based on a progression of skills.

Our curriculum also includes the psychomotor, cognitive, affective, and health related areas of fitness and health and is aligned with the California State Standards, as well as the National Association for Sports and Physical Education (NASPE) Standards.
